So, you have been lucky enough to be asked the question ‘will you marry me?’ and have said ’yes’. Now comes the interesting part, organising the wedding.

Many of us in the home counties including Surrey are lucky enough to have a family member or friend with a garden large enough to take a marquee of a suitable size but why should you consider this over say a venue?
The most common mistake is to think that a marquee will be cheaper than the venue. This is usually not the case but there are several potential cost savings:
Firstly, you can choose the caterer whereas at a venue you are usually tied to their catering. This has an impact on not only the type of food available but also the cost. On a tight budget a hog roast is an excellent solution to feed your guests or alternatives include a fish and chip van or a pizza van. If you are having a full 3-course meal then you will invariably need us to provide either a generator or our electrician to wire into the mains of the house. All of this, Crystal Marquees can take care of for you.
Secondly, drink. A huge amount of alcohol is consumed at most weddings. With a marquee at home you are able to provide your own alcohol which can make a vast cost saving. If you are not wanting to do this then usually your caterer will offer a bar service and we can supply you with the hire of a bar.
Thirdly decorations. You are free to do these yourself or get someone in to do this for you and again you are not limited by the venue. So, you can decorate your marquee in exactly the way you want to.
One of the reasons many of our past clients have cited for holding the wedding at home was that they did not want the party to finish at 11pm which most venues insist on. Within reason (Due to noise pollution) you are free to carry on to the early hours so that you and your guests can really make the most of your special day.
