Wedding planning can be both incredibly fun and incredibly stressful – even if you’re the most organised person on earth. There’s so much to sort out, from wedding marquees in Surrey to the dress, food, music… the list may well feel like it’s never-ending from time to time.
But there’s no need to panic – if you keep an eye on all the latest wedding trends, you may well find it easier to make a few decisions and not feel quite overwhelmed with everything you have to sort out. Talking to other brides is also a good idea as they may be able to help you with a few pointers and put you in the right direction for certain items and inspiration.
In terms of trends for your bouquets this year, you’ll want to look out for something big, bold and with lots of foliage. Brides are also starting to paint the leaves on their flowers in both metallics and pastels, which certainly sounds like a lot of fun and is one guaranteed way to make sure your bouquet really does stand out.
Away from the bouquet but still sticking with flowers for the moment, suspended florals are some of the most popular trends for 2018, as are potted plants. Couples are increasingly going for a more natural option when it comes to wedding décor so bear this in mind when putting your special day together.
Of course, one of the most important parts of the day has to be the food. No one wants to think that their guests will go home hungry, after all… and if you’re keen to avoid the trappings of a sit-down dinner with silver service, you’ll probably be very excited indeed to hear that pizza is actually one of the biggest wedding food trends to have popped up in recent weeks.
This would be a very quick and easy (and relatively cheap) way to feed everyone – and who doesn’t like pizza? It’s also a simple way of catering for different dietary requirements, especially these days when vegan cheese is all the rage!
Don’t forget about the cake, either – even if you will be filling up on pizza. Fig cakes are apparently all the rage at the moment, with minimal decoration and just a touch of white frosting. Midnight snacking is also proving popular, just in case your guests find themselves a bit peckish after all the dancing.
