This year we have lined two school halls in Surrey for P.T.A balls. The usual reason for a P.T.A ball is to try and raise money for something the school needs and so cost is at the top of the priority list. Getting Crystal Marquee Hire in to transform the school hall could be the answer.
There are 3 cost benefits of using a school hall rather than erecting a marquee in the grounds of the school. The first is that if you are considering doing this between autumn and spring there is no need to pay for heating as the hall will be heated anyway. Secondly, the hall will have a hard floor and so there is no need to pay for a wooden floor throughout which is a considerable cost. We just lay a carpet first on the hall floor to protect it and a dance floor. Finally, we erect the frame of the marquee inside the building to hang the linings from but we do not need to put the PVC covers on which again saves money.
We transformed the hall of Greenfields School in Woking, Surrey in May for a ball.
We first laid a carpet on the floor, erected a 9m x 16.5m marquee frame and dressed the frame with our ivory pleated linings with navy blue pelmets. A 14ft x 14ft Black & White Dance Floor was then laid and we also supplied all the tables and chairs. The photo below is of the finished product:
To help the client with the planning we also provided a drawing of the layout after the initial site visit.
In October, we also transformed the hall of King Edwards School in Witley, Surrey. In this instance the school managed to save more money as they had their own tables and chairs. They used this saving towards having an LED pea light canopy and internal up lights around the side of the marquee. The photo below is how the school hall looked:
The client kindly left this review afterwards:
“I just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to you and Lisa for making the KESW Masquerade Ball a huge success!!! Having the marquee set up in the hall literally transformed the space and no-one was expecting to step into such a magical space. We had comments from parents and teachers, including the headmistress saying how sophisticated, elegant and fabulous the ball was and that they cannot wait for next years’ ball. This is significant progress considering that we haven’t had a ball in two years and last year’s event had to be cancelled due to poor uptake. We had a total of 75 guests but I’m hoping that next year we will have an optimistic 100.
The guys who set up the marquee were delightful, friendly and incredibly professional.
Thank you for being so understanding and for your help in making our ball so spectacular!
Many thanks once again.”
