The cold of the winter months will challenge even the most willing of wedding guest, but this shouldn’t spoil your appearance on the special day.
A winter wedding can potentially be a magical experience, when set against a backdrop off snow covered hills. Wedding marquees from us at Crystal Marquees complement the rolling hills of Surrey, as well as the hills in surrounding counties. We understand your wedding guests may face challenges, not only having to decide what to wear, but from the whole idea of venturing out on a winters day, never mind evening.
Anyone fortunate enough to have already experienced the delightful countryside of Surrey during the winter months will be aware of just how volatile the weather can quickly become. Guests from afar may struggle with roads, or other methods of transportation to get to the venue. Handling this could become a nightmare for the bride and groom so it’s important you establish contact with a close relative, or friend, who’ll be in attendance.
Winter Wedding must go on
Let’s face it though; it’s the Surrey hills, not wild blizzard country so a contingency plan that involves escaping a blizzard hit marquee will not be necessary. If there’s unusual weather then you’ll find our marquees are strong and sturdy and we’ll not hesitate in advising if conditions are going to get too grim.
If the ceremony is to be taking place in the marquee you can trust us to ensure it’ll be adequately heated and secure. If not, then we can ensure the same even it’s to be used just for the after party, dinner or whatever use you wish.
It’s important to realise that winter can sometimes result in harsh weather conditions. So, if the worst does happen it’s important to remember it’s a wedding day, so go with it and smile throughout and help the bride and groom make the most of their day.
Don the correct attire for the Winter Wedding
Any wedding guest will tell you that the attire for a wedding can be a challenging exercise, especially when it’s the winter months. Clothing during the winter months will have to be appropriate and consider the event itself, as well as the potential weather conditions. Fashion gurus, within wedding circles, will tell you that it’s important to consider your dress, or clothing, options. It could be snowing, it will be cold, so arrive prepared and have your shoes, dress and other wedding attire with you in nice clothing fabric bags.
It’s a great opportunity to wear a light layer too, such as a cosy cardigan or half-zip sweater, which can be more easily removed, rather than wearing a thermal under-layer, which will get hot quickly once indoors.
Remember, the important thing is to enjoy the day; even you are not a lover of the winter months. Our marquees will do the job and more, we’ve worked on some fantastic winter weddings in the past, get in touch for more information.
