Who doesn’t love putting on an event from time to time? It’s an awful lot of fun seeing people enjoying themselves in your party marquees – and organising an event can also be a very enjoyable experience… as long as everything is properly planned down to the nth degree.
One of the biggest decisions you’ll have to make is where to hold your party – and this will largely be determined by the demographic you’re inviting to the shindig. If you’re looking for something a little on the unusual side, then you’ve come to the right place – here are just a couple of the more unique venues in the UK that might be right for you and your guests.
Does the idea of putting on an event in an amusement park, well, amuse you? Dreamland Margate has space for anything between 20 and 800 guests, boasting a vintage ballroom, Tree Top bar, The Roller Room for evening dancing, and even a collection of private beach huts for something more intimate.
Tunnels Beaches is a wonderful place to go and will certainly impress your guests – not least because it’s home to four hand-carved tunnels, dug out way back in the 1820s. There are some incredible rock and tidal pools to enjoy, as well as a private beach, so it would make a brilliant venue no matter what event you’re putting on.
You’ve got 250 acres to explore here so you know there’ll be room for your party, regardless of what you’re doing. There’s a retro caravan, glamping village, meadows, woodland, cosy cabins… the whole jolly lot! It might be worth waiting until summer for this one, however, so you can enjoy it properly.
Is there anything better than hiring an entire beach cove for your event? Imagine how impressive it would look, with your marquee on the sand right in front of the sea. This would certainly be an event never to be forgotten!
Or you could head off to Scotland for another beachy event if that’s closer to where you live, with Harvest Moon on the coast of Tyninghame in East Lothian offering two incredible venues to choose from. Pick from the beach or the stunning Treehouse site, which has some unrivalled views of the Bass Rock.
If it’s an intimate wedding that you’re planning and want something a little out of the ordinary, check out the Nash Point Lighthouse in Vale. This is still a working lighthouse – the only one in the entire British Isles, in fact, which would be a great talking point. If it’s an intimate affair, this would be a wonderful choice of venue – and you can even go on a tour of the lighthouse, which will keep friends and family busy while you have your photographs taken.
